A retired science teacher, school librarian and energy engineer, I try to devote more time to my avocations as an artist, photographer and writer, all in which I have been interested from an early age. I tend to focus on nature subjects but also enjoy working with WWII military aircraft, geometrics, architecture, landscapes and lighthouses.
It was an honor and privilege serving in the US Navy Submarine Service where I reached the rank of Radioman 2nd Class. I joined the Navy Reserve program while still in high school, marched in President Johnson’s inaugural parade, attended Submarine School and Radioman “A” school, then completed active duty on two WWII submarines before assuming duties at ComSubLant in Norfork, Virginia as a teletype operator. I served during the early stages of the Vietnam conflict but, unlike so many other men and women, I wasn’t assigned there.
