Artist/Illustrator
Ever since I was very young, I have enjoyed doing art. I
particularly enjoyed pencil sketching and pen and ink rendering. One of my
earliest extant works is a pen and ink of the chapel at Star Island off the
coast of New Hampshire. It was completed while I was in high school. However,
photography has been a lifelong avocation.
It wasn’t until later in life that I returned to drawing and
grew interested in painting and illustration. Membership in the Lansing Art
Guild (Michigan) and Franklin Art Association (Massachusetts), allowed me to
learn, grow and develop as an artist. My preferred medium is watercolor, but I
also like to work with pen and ink, scratchboard, and linoleum block printing.
After writing my non-fiction book about geodes, I decided to illustrate it
photographically using Adobe Photoshop CS. The combination worked very well and
a publisher is now considering it for publication.
See my gallery for examples of my work.
